yo, tutor.. why u gotta make the names soooo long on the samples, dont u know in the mpc500 when u have too many characters and they are the same till the last few numbers, the 500 cant scroll through em all and will only show like one sample????

I think the WAV files have the same name as the originals we got from Timmy, I did rename then for the SND format versions due to the 8 character limit in the older MPCs, TBH I forgot the 500 displays only the first few characters in the LOAD screen, although I believe it still loads them fine.

But I'll try to get them renamed early next week. :)

yea, it dosnt play them all, it skips through em though...i already waited the hour or so to load em into the cf card..one thing i hate about the 500 is u buy a pack of hundreds of samples, load em in which takes forever, then u gotta change the name of each sample, that takes hella long, anyone know a fast way?? maybe just sampling em in from the computer???

i use Reaper. it has a batch convert function.

open reaper > menu > batch convert > load files> convert

Its both great for 24 bit samples (turning kits into 16 bit wav's) and re-naming. you can simply call the entire batch "BREAK" and it will add a prefix for you turning them into "BREAK-01" "BREAK-02" ect.

works a bloody treat, i can convert and rename a drum kit with say 200 hits in under a minute.

you realize in the time it took you to complain twice, you could have re-named all of the files?

Should have just got in touch, I would have grabbed that old account info for you. I can still merge the accounts, just send me an email or PM with some of your details so I can find the old account.

I'll update the file names most definitely, I've got the JJOSXL book going live this week, so I want to get that finished. But the files will get sorted immediately after that.
