new user here!

after years of wanting one i finally bought a used mpc 1000 some weeks ago, blue one, fully loaded, jjos.2.27 on it, not a noob in hardware sequencing and homestudiostuff but i hate manuals, so i just switched it on and starte dion stuff, After bout an hour fiddlin round on this machine i found out how it works and started lovin it, doin one beat a day since that day, updated to 3.25 some days ago and now i have following problem:

I set a loop to four bars, record, lets say, some drums , stop recording, playing round with some hats and snares to record them, go in overdub mode, record, and my mpc wont loop plus creates new bars after the four bars are played as i record…., been reading here for quite a while, havent found a post bout that, i assume i am the only one whos not gettin this right…before the update i havent had that issue….hope you guys can help!

Cheers from austria

No because if you read the manual you can set it to not ADD more bars, and thus turn of the loop.
In fact I work with the loop on for dozens of tracks and overdub constantly and never have this problem. Set it up right and you will see.

The link above is because you have changed the bar length, and that is the thing to be clear about. So set it to not change bar length on overdub and it will overdub for ever and loop over and not change at all, and then it does not turn of the loop. simple.

ok, so if i get you right i actually got two ways to mess this up: adding bars manually and adding bars via overdubbing? guess i need to download that manual!! and i thought after rocking out on modularsynths and old drummachines that mpc will be an easy ride....anyway, thanks for your help!!
