Has anyone bought a windows 8 machine and used the mpc software ?? I bought the Surface and this thing is sick! I am now eager to completely wipe out my laptop and do a clean install of win8...I heard it uses less memory and speeds up machines because of the better use of resources and other computer related jargon like that, plus windows 8 is just nice.

Anyone running windows 8? Will I have issues with the akai software?

I already have the renaissance and the software running on my windows 7 laptop..

Thanks

I can honestly say i think windows 8 is better in general. I have just installed the ren software and been using it for about an hour. it seems to run just as well if not a bit snappier than windows 7.

I'm glad that someone brought this up.....I'm about to upgrade my laptop and the best way to go is clearly with what the new standard would be in my opinion.....Plus all new laptop will come shipped with Windows 8......

Please give an update as you use the Ren more with Win 8 and maybe some video on how well it performs.......

. I was able to install the mpc and software and load up some beats. Everything seems fine so far! I made my color scheme a grey color so the mpc program looks way cleaner now.. windows 8 is dope but extremely dope on a tablet or touch device. Right on.

I've been able to install everything but the "Install Content" portion which produces a "not responding" message. Akai tech support informed me that this is because Windows 8 is not supported. I'm curious as to how other users have managed to make this work. Akai said they had no solid timeline for Windows 8 support. I read the specs but kind of ignored the OS requirement as I assumed (yes I know the old adage about assumptions) that a brand new product like this would be in line with the latest OS for windows. My Ren resides in its bag in the garage until I can use it :x I guess it's back to the 2000xl for awhile.

I don't own a Ren or Studio yet but I have been using Windows 8 and using it to produce with Sonar X1, Reason 6.5 and Ableton 8 and 9 beta with absolutely no problems. The only problems I have had with windows 8 was getting my reg cleaning software to work right with it but I don't think the software was meant to work with 8 but the update for it is that I have been running for the past week. I got Windows 8 about 2 months ago.

Triumphantly: You are the man, Suicide Server! Puzzling that the Akai told me that Windows 8 was not compatible. Much appreciated.

Thanks!

Works perfect with Windows 8. It will go into desktop mode when you click on the MPC icon so its like running windows 7.

I have a Touchscreen Sony VIAO All in one and the MPC app works great with it. No need for a mouse or keyboard. I still use my keyboard for some stuff.

Thats exactly what i want to do. Since the Surface Pro has a third generation Core i5, it should have enough power to handle Reason and the MPC Software, as long as you dont use too much plugins at the same time. I will post the results as soon as the Surface is in.
