Question to Akai Product Management/Support:

Are there any plans to improve on the design flaws of the current MPK88 version?

Specifically the following:

1. Rattling noise on the transport buttons when playing middle C octave keys
2. Noisy key bed when playing keys in general
3. Overall IMPROVEMENT OF KEY ACTION and QUALITY OF KEYS?

This is an $800 piece of gear, and has GREAT POTENTIAL to be a FLAGSHIP 88-key controller on the market today.. The assignable sliders and knobs are a huge selling point.

But Akai decided to cut some corners and spend a little less money and has produced an 88-Key "Hammer Action" controller that DOES NOT LIVE UP to expectations.

Will there be an update on this design in a future release?

Thank you for your time.

PS: Take a look at Roland and their A-88 controller for the FEEL that the AKai MPK88 SHOULD HAVE.

You pair KEY QUALITY of a R A-88 and the MIDI controller options of an MPK Keyboard and you would have an unbeatable advantage over every other manufacturer out there.

Think about it

and it's not just me.. do a search on Google and looke for "MPK88 Reviews" and see for yourselves.

Thank you

This is not an Akai run web site, we're completely independent, just a community of MPC users. Akai rarely post here unless they are marketing a new product :)
