over dub problem

hi! i have a over dub problem, i made loop from samples that are in one mute group, then i want to over dub it, using the same samples, all of them are in one mute group, so i pres over dub + play, put a few pad pressings over my loop, and mpc play back a old loop + a new pressings, but when i press stop and play again, loop playback whithout over dubbed part, like i press undo seq, its very sad, what can i do to fix it?

Ok it is not very clear what the problem is to me? you mean that you can overdub then you do not hear it? is that what you are saying?

Ok you are using mute groups so that means that they new parts might not play as it is being muted. So therefore you do not hear it - it is being muted..
So I suggest you copy the program. Then change the copied program to not mute. So this way you can have your mute groups and still hear new overdubbed part.

So one program that has mute groups and the copy has not got mute groups. You will have to use two tracks because you can not have two programs on same track

sorry for my english, i chopped a sampled loop, put all pads in one mute group, pres rec+play and record my track, if i dont stop recording mpc goes in over dub mode right? so i made a few more pressings, and mpc remembers it, its all good... but the problem is, if i wont over dub the same track that i have been recorded, mpc playbacks it with new pressings, but after i press stop, it plays track with no changes, so what im trying to say, that over dub works only if you record track first time, if you copy the same track and you need to make changes in it, over dub wont work...
if i copy the program and change to not muted, samples will play not like i wont them to play...

yes it will. It is called overdub for a reason as this is a recording method (overdub).

yeah i said that if you want to overdub but keep track mutes on first program then copy the program and only change copied program to not mute, so your chops will still played as you want on first track as first program is not changed.

right! thats what i need, i made one track from my chops, than make copy of that track, than pres overdub+play to put some different chops on top of a copy of first track, all my chops are in one mute group right? so they replace old ones, mpc repeats it with new pad hits, that what i need, its easier to make a many different tracks, but after i pres stop, that track comes back in its primary condition, why mpc cant leave it with new pad hits?

I said make a copy of the PROGRAM, not the track.
if you have two tracks playing the same thing it is not good.
use blank track with a copy of the program. Copy the program then change it to no mute groups. Then you will have two programs that are the same except the mutes. So this way you can use muted chops on one track and use another track with copied PROGRAM ( you make copy then change the mutes to off) to play over the top and it wont mute FIRST track. Make sense?

Try loading a random sample in a separate program to different track, and record to overdub to troubleshoot.

Well technically it should not matter what OS, but yeah JJ is da bomb
