need a little help from you guys

well the story goes my cat spilt some drink on my lpd8 [i know alot of you use midi controllers so maybe you can help]

its not broken. the knobs work, the top 4 pads work...but the bottom row stays lit and does not regester within ableton. sorry if this is the wrong place for a question. but i could reallly use some help.

im thinking of opening it up and cleaning it

but since the pads are lit i feel like they work but are either sticky? [which would read them as active in ableton]
or since i resently installed the disc it came with to get the knobs working maybe i changed some sort of setting

any help would be awsome

Personally I'd open it up. Once opened, i'd make sure it was completely dry. if pads are dead they're dead. before closing i'd put some double-sided tape on the underside of the pads to make them a little more sensitive.

I spilled an entire Sparks in an M-Audio keyboard one time and all was well after draining/drying. But that's a lot more space for the liquid to spread out. I hope nothing shorted out in your lpd8.

thanks for responding. im we are down to one pad that is constantly lite. it was papst spilt on it so im thing stickyness. ableton reads the pads that do work so i dont think anything shorted. thanks for the link for the pad trick im going to do that while i have the thing open anyway.

keep it real mpc forums i will have to start lurking here among the many producing forums i waste time one you guys were very helpful.




any advise on cleaning it as in materials to use? or things to look outfor while moding/cleaning?
