Premier still makes his beats on the MPC60 and SP900 and have only just recently invested in a DAW, so assuming you need FL, Cubase, ProToll ect to make good music is just plain wrong.

Most people use DAWS instead of hardware because they can download all they need illegally. You don't get it cheaper then that....

I heard a blind test of the mpc60, mpc2000, sp1200, mpc3000 and mpcren and nobody could hear the difference...

I think that if you like Primos dirty drum sound It's "all" in the mix rather then the hardware.

I heard some primo samples on an mpc60mkII and it didnt come close to the primo sound.... no doubt he's a master behind the pult....!
