I got the factory contents, and the bank instruments installed

but my dvd drive keeps burping up the 809, wub, and noise vsts

any help here?

Besides that I love the Ren, knocking out so many beats, a few bugs here and there but I seem to be able to work around most of them, I am in sample tweaking heaven right now. This thing blows the maschine out the water, it's functions like any other mpc just with so much many more options, I didn't think I'd have to learn this thing but I realize I'm going to have to bang out beats for a few weeks till I know my whole way around everything. After a couple of updates I think this is the best mpc ever made hands down

damn, you feel that strongly about it? did you ever doubt the ren would be this good? 2 months ago, would you have thought the ren would be better than maschine?

Hi Inspectah,

The MPC Software disk and The Bank are dual layer DVDs. The others, are all single layer DVDs.

Unfortunately, defective disk medis is the only likely reason that your drive should reject the 809, wub, and Noise single layer dvds, while accepting the dual layer disks.

Call or email Akai and they'll send you replacement disks.

the bank is HUGE. let it plug away. it will finish, or give you a disc read error. but let it sit a while.

MPC works, but it's unsupported. your mileage may vary. windows 7 is reccommended.

I got The Bank and 809 installed no problem, but the Install_Content was making my DVD drive hang. I tried copying the content to the desktop, but no joy at all. It just kept locking up the drive and slowing the PC down to a crawl.

After a week of trying it on and off, and in 4 PC's (Vista, Win 7, Win 8 ), I finally got it installed on my Win 8 box. Here's what I did:

Ran the installer to get the Driver/Software/Installed Content window.
    Click to install the Content
Got distracted, so left the DVD drive un-responding for about 15 mins
Came back and the Installer had closed itself down, and the DVD Drive had spun down
Ran the installer again, without removing the disc from the drive
    Install Content worked perfectly 0_o

This may be worth a try if you're having issues.

Felt like a moran waiting for it to finish...thanx for the tip bro

If anyone is on a mac looking for this just right click on the "install mpc.app" and click show show package contents, then just drag installcontent.pkg to the desktop.
