If u have a mac and logic check the environment I made and you can open the button and vector objects to see the sys ex messages.
You may find it easier to copy and paste them from there as all the buttons etc are clearly labelled. Or it might help u get started. I found the Sysex manual initially confusing. It's hard finding things that actually send Sysex though.
Also I could only get communication working one way I.e. to the mpc not from.
I actually think this would be a good way to improve the jj os if every mpc command had a simple midi command so u could create a simple iPad app to edit patches etc.
