Although there are a billion definitions for Drum and Bass and Jungle, and a zillion sub-genres, I am pretty selective of what I like as well. I prefer 95-96 style jungle that used mostly analog samples, rather than later DnB that is more "electronic". I guess every style has it's unique audience.

Great work !!!! I just thought about what D'n'B producers of the 90s would think if they could have timetravell from back then to 2013 and watch you playing live the stuff THEY click into their Atari Notator

Do you know if any of those "old producers" played it real time on a MPC back then?

Definitely my favorite era too! The producers were constantly pushing the envelope for killer bass, drum chopping, and just raw energy! That seems to be what makes music thrive when it is "underground".

Appreciate the comments! I haven't seen many other people using these things for live jungle. I know that the MPC-60 was used on many classics, like my all time favorite early hardcore/acid track "Trip II The Moon" by Acen. Not sure if many producers went to the one-shot drum level and played live, but there were some amazing things done with cuts and slices. Remarc is pretty much the king of chopping up Amen drum segments.

Yeah, I hear ya. After the Ragga era in 93-94, things went dark in the late 90's and spun off into a whole other evil sound of their own. Some great dark tunes out there, but I prefer more funky stuff.

didn't see this until now.. (thanks to coz and ian in the other thread) .. really cool!

I was messing with a similar idea a few years ago in the MV but then wound up not doing anything with it.. sounding great I think.

I like apocalyptic dnb sometimes... well, huge epic disaster dnb with chopped break drums (rather than the machine gunning one shot drum patterns) but it really depends on the track I think...
