Do you have any guide / tutorial about voices / poly / mono, how they "work", how overlap affects voices ect...?

Well it's certainly discussed in many of my books during the course of a specific project/chapter, but I don't have a specific tutorial just for this, it just crops up every now and then so I explain it and show how to set it up depending on the specific tutorial.

Actually my new JJOSXL book (going live tomorrow!) covers POLY/MONO and voices a fair bit.

Which MPC/OS are you using and what exactly needing help with? You'd probably be better just asking a specific question and we'd be able to answer it directly here.

Well, I'd like to know how the voices are "counted"... I know one mono sample = 1 voice and one stereo sample = 2 voices, but i don't understand how 4 stereo samples and 4 mono samples can count as 32 voices when the sounds aren't playing at the same time...

I'd like to understand the voice count system and how to avoid hitting 32, because right now i only have a sample and drums and are maxed out, and I'm sure it's because I don't know how to limit the use of voices

which mpc are you using?

I have RTM, including page 85 - 86 regarding limiting voices and how to mute pads / groups to avoid overlap...I'm still having trouble limiting the voices even though I've set the pad to cancel each other, set everything to mono ect...

I'm actually experiencing sound cancelling when Im hitting 26 voices or above, so I'd like to know how to count the voices so I can figure out where it goes wrong!
