Will pro tools express be free in 1.3 update?

Does anyone know if pro tools express will be part of 1.3 update for current owners of the Ren or will we have to purchase seperatly? I assume its free in the update I've not seen any confirmation of that.

So after watching saintjoe's video interview Dan stated that they won't be jerks about previous Ren getting the pro tools express for free. He stated we would have to call tech support and the promotion was starting on Thursday. So that means January 31 2013 we need to start calling tech support and hold Dan to his word. Want to save that video clip and play for them if they try to tell us otherwise. They released 2 to 3 half assed updates that did not improve much so those of us who already own the Ren should not be cheated out of that software. If it was not for us on this forum making noise these future improvements and bug fixes would not have been addressed. Thank you saintjoe for getting the answers from Akai.

You already know early adopters aren't getting Pro Tools Express. Unless they take a page out of NI's book with the free Massive upgrade.

In the video Dan didn't seem too happy about current Ren owners wanting the PT express for free. By labeling it as a "promo" he's suggesting that you don't qualify unless you buy it starting on Thur. That's going to be fun trying to get tech support to hand it over.....

I wouldn't get your hopes up for this..

Was Pro Tools part of the deal when you bought your Ren? If not they don't owe you nothing. You are not entitled to all future promotions by default, some of you got discounts already IIRC, that was your promotion.

I think you have to be reasonable. Promos are there to attract new customers - you already bought the Ren without Pro Tools and were quite happy to do so at the time. What I feel Dan is saying is that if you bought the Ren in the past couple of days before the promo went live, they'll back date the promo for you - many companies would do this, but they have to draw a line somewhere. Expecting them to back date by months is generally unreasonable, especially if there's a cost involved for them (iLoks, per user licensing fees to Avid etc).

So I wouldn't expect to get it if you bought the Ren in October - if you do, that's great.

Is anyone promoting this promo, I'm ready to pick up a Ren.

If they fix the pluggin LCD bugs and allow multiple channel to control multiple programs from a DAW in the next release, I'll be nice with my CUBASE... Pro-tools could be a Plus but i'have no hope anymore about getting an Ilok and a License from AKAI... **** miser...
