Hi guys finally i have enough money to invest in a new MPC since my old mpc1000 isnt working properly anymore.

long story short i need some recomendations which one i should buy.

im not too happy with computer (MPC Ren) so it should be a classic one.

im tending to the MPC 5000 but ive seen the entire bug thread over here and now im confused.

should i go with the 5000 or 2500.

Welcome to the forums - for the best advice, please explain what your specific needs are - i.e. What's wrong with another 1000? What features of the 5000 and 2500 are appealing.

In a nutshell, I'd forget the 5000 as it's too buggy, and I'd go with a 1000 or 2500 with a JJOS installed.

Moved to comparison forum :-D

Get a mpc4000..they are cheap now. Constantly seeing them for around $800.
From all that I see and read it sounds like the 1000 with JJ is like the 4000.
There is a video I watched where the store salesman even says the 2500 isn't worth it compared to the 1000. I haven't used any other mpc but the 4000. TTFWIW

cheers,
ian

Well the 1000 and the 2500 are the same just different casings. 5000 is like a pregnant ****, one day it'll be all cool and dandy and the next it'll slap you on the head with a fryer.

You can either take that money to fix up your 1000 or get the 2500. Either way you win.

since i update my 1000 with the jjos128xlcd screen and OS i couldnt be more happy. the 2500 is an mpc i would consider. but im more than please with the 1000. so maybe go and fix your 1000 and get the new jjos with the screen.

i wold go with fixing up your 1k with jjos xlcd screen 128xl OS, with the xlcd screen it will be like you get a new mpc while still being able to load all your old projects on its old OS. unless you really need the extra ouputs or midi ports on the 2500, i would pass on it.

the 4k could also be nice, but honestly, if your good with the 1k workflow, why switch? i would love to get a 4k to add to my 1k, but i wold never sell my 1k for a 4k.

if you are set on getting a new mpc though and wont consider the 128xl OS for your 1k, i would go with the 4k.

fuuuuc the 5k. too many bugs.

another plus of the 4k is that it can read 24 bit and 16 bit. sample converting is a huge hassle if you have alot of them.
