MPC60 Value

Hello fellow MPC heads

I've been away for a few years (not in jail, but hardly using the MPC)

I've got to clear out some kit I don't use. Sold my 3000 last year, it killed me as I loved that sexy ****.
I've got 2 60's so one has got to go. My question is how much do you guys reckon its worth for the purposes of an ebay reserve ?

as I have both a MK1 and 2 I can put it all in either shell.

I'm thinking its got to be close to £1000

on a side note I see no one worked out the ghost issue, that's a shit.

MPC60 values are down at the moment. It's easier to max the machines now that the SCSI and RAM boards are readily available (ie being made in FRANCE). You'd be lucky to get £750 for an MPC3000 so you can deduce the value of a maxed MPC60 from that.

If you put on eBay you'll get an idea of what people are prepared to pay if you put a buy it now price with best offers accepted. Around £600 is a good ball park figure but a keen collector *might* be willing to pay more depending on the condition, accessories, recent servicing and that kind of stuff. The MPC60II is less desirable so expect to get around 15% less on average.

Possibly, but a lot of MPC60's have card readers now. An Extra £50 tops IMHO.

I paid 250 for mine. It's in excellent condition. (orginal MPC60 without extra's)

No SCSI? Subtract £100-150 from what I said earlier, so that would bring yours down to around £450-500

I bought mine (MKI) two years ago... mint condition (looks almost brand new), old OS, no memory expansion, no SCSI... for roughly 500 Euro.

I purchased my MPC60 MK1 for a crazy deal at Sam Ash Music. However, it had no extra options... memory, SCSI, OS etc... It is stock with OS 2.02
It is in very good condition tho, I am slowly adding the extras here and there.
So far, I installed new pads and memory. I am working on upgrading the OS and SCSI board.

For your unit, depending on the condition, the street value over here in New York would be between $500-$700USD because of the Full Memory and the OS. The CF card is nice to have as well. Having the Marion SCSI would make it complete. That would really up the value of your unit.

Doesn't it already have the SCSI option installed for the CF reader to work?

Of course you are right Simon, but it is a bit unclear what the OP will actually be selling. He has two cases (MK1/ MK2) so he could conceivably sell any spec machine he chooses or keep any spec machine he chooses. Thats why I asked the question, so the OP could clarify.

If I were the OP, I'd keep a fully spec'd MK1 machine and bail out on whats left. Hopefully Toe will come back and tell us what he decides to do before going to eBay. Last time he decided to sell he changed his mind at the midnight hour...
