Midi Question

I have a keyboard hooked up to my 2000xl, and when I record a Midi track it plays back only through the keyboard instead of the speakers with my drums. How do I get a Midi track to play out of my monitors as one with my drums/ samples??

Could you explain it a little more??

Midi doesn't carry audio signals. Each music machine audio output has to be connected to a mixer > amp > speakers.

So I would need to have all my drums, samples, and midi data going through the channels of a mixer to hear it all as a whole through the monitors, instead of playing back through the keyboard?


I am very new to this and the only mixer I have is a 2 ch dj mixer hooked up to 2 tables, Could anyone give me some suggestions or recommendations on a good but not to expensive mixing board???
