OK so what the "right" way to save a sample off a turntable

So I meesed around with the MPC ans my tables last night and I was able to sample 5 or so cuts from my decks to the mpc. Well I named the sample and assigned it to a pad, now what do I have to do to be able to use them in a song?? Where should I be saving them?? Where can I keep them so I can go back and save more to the same spot, should I make a folder for them?? Whats the proper saving structure??

....Sorry about all the questions but it seems that every night I do something new on the MPC and have to leave it on all day untill I find out from you guys how to save what I did the night before. Kind of funny but thats the way it is right now...I'm new.

Save them on a zip disk. (which begs the question, do you have a zip drive?) How you save them depends on what is easiest for you. Normally if I'm working on a beat I'll make a folder with the same name as the song and then save the programs and sequences in that folder. To actually save your files, go to the LOAD screen (shift + 3, i think), hit F2 and take it from there. For more detailed info you could always check the manual.

It's all in the manual, but whatever...

when you're in the SAVE screen (btw you don't need to go through the LOAD screen to get there...), save both

the .APS (All Programs and Sounds)
and
the .ALL (All Sequences and Songs).

When you start up your mpc just load up both of them and you're set.

Instead of hitting SHIFT + LOAD, try hitting SHIFT + SAVE..

OK seein g that I don't have a zip....yet....Can I just keep saving them to the card?? So I should make a folder that holds everything that make up the whole song......samples, seq, programs and songs. Ok I understand all except the latter, the song. What or how to I make the loop into a song? All I have now is a bunch of tracks that are looped and when I want to chage the beat I just mute some of the tracks and make up a breakdown or hook. Kind of cheesey right now, but I'm learning.

Copy your first sequence and do what you're already doing with the track mutes. Once you have multiple sequences, go into song mode and put them together.

Ohh you can put mutiple seq in the same song.......hummm. Why does it seem that I read this stuff over in the manual it never really makes sence untill I run into a problem like this

..Ya I woundered why it's was soo blury, the other forum I use it on it comes out real clean.... What can you do??
