static sounds

Sometimes the MPC plays static instead of the actual sounds. It does it when they are assigned to a pad or just browsing through the CF. If I turn the machine off and back on it usually corrects itself. Any ideas?

I restored to default settings (turn on while holding erase) and so far so good.
