Sample mute group

I'm probably just getting confused cos I got a Roland SPDS which has sample mute group. Does this exist on the XL or can you only sample mute where you orange open poly/mono/note off - I prolly know you can't. Or should I just read the **** manual?

you should read the manual. but on the 2kxl you can have 1 pad mute up to 2 other pads, so there is a work around for this here:

mpc 500, 1000, 2500, 5000, and 4000 all have mute groups. but the older ones do not.

That's what I thought, I use the mute function on the XL all the time but since getting the SPDS I occasionally wonder about things that don't exist. Thanks for the reply man.
