I may do so... I never tried those guy's VST stuff before... however, notice the difference between what? I dont have the ren.. but if you meant the difference between time machine and those ones.. I suspect your mean their bit crusher?

I don't know how close those plugs would get to the 60/SP1200 sound but yeah man TAL makes some great plugins especially for being free/donationware. I'm going to buy the paid Juno emulation they just recently released as soon as I have some free cash.

mr_debauch, I downloaded the demo at Tone Boosters and was pleased a free one installs with the demo. Thanks for pointing that one out.

I'm partial to D16's Decimort for this sort of thing. It has presets based on all the old boxes, 60, 1200, EPS, FZ-1 and so on. The emulations aren't spot on but they definitely capture the character and behaviors of those older samplers.

^ the thing I was happy with on the time machine pluggin was the nice amiga presets... I mean, I have never really played the stuff I run through that on an amiga, nor have I ever heard an amiga going through studio monitor type speakers..... but I can totally see how those presets make sense.

The 12 bit legends preset is more what I was referring to, and obviously from there you make a few alterations to the preset to suit the sound going through it... seeing how much you can get away with before it sounds obnoxious.


meta, I got the whole tone boosters pack, including the ferox... which IMO is very entertaining... it actually runs in real time with no delay on the output unlike many other tape ones...
