sp-303/404(og or sx versions)/555/606 as a deadly and powerful alternative. You can't go wrong with an sp/mp combo.

Personally, I'm thinking of copping a second sp to have one on my inputs and one on a pair of individual outputs at all times. Basically one to process incoming samples and one for resampling/midi sound module duties....it's a little excessive, but fuuuuuuck iiiiiiiiiiit.... :smoker:

I cant totally picture doing that from a laziness perspective.. I still haven't even gotten around to snagging a 303 yet after all these years of having it on my mind.

Damn, I thought you had one! Definitely worth every penny....I would pay almost $200 just for the glitchy random goodness you can get when reverse looping a sample by tapping the reverse button on tempo, lol. I will say that it is very easy to overload the processor in it though and get random freeze-ups and whatnot...I'm sure you've done your homework though

But, Yeah, it's pretty lazy...there's a stereo and a mono input on the sp-303, already. I run my decks into the stereo ins and one individual out from the mp into the mic/mono input, so I basically have the same setup running currently. 2 would be nice, but a little bit gluttonous... you can build a battery pack and keep one in your backpack/car/office though!

nah I never wound up getting one in the end... I was tempted by the 404sx too... but that has nothing to do with me wanting a 303.. but around here over the past few months... in craigslist you have idiots trying to sell their 404sx machines and even the non sx 404s for 450 bucks. GTFOH... yeah right... craigslist has been trash lately... though I cant really complain about the deals I managed to score a few years back.

It's always been something I felt would be great to have... but I never got there.

I actually had a 303 last year for 2-3 months but i needed cash and had to part with it. This was before i got my 2kxl and now i kinda wish i still had the thing so i could have more freedom when sampling. Lack of hipass filter is really the ONE thing that annoys me. Havent seen any for sale Lately and same for the 404 but as debauch said prices around here are rediculous.. 375 and up.

what takes the cake though... there is one idiot trying to sell the korg kp2 for i think 280 or 300 bucks. The kp3 is worth 250 used... the kp2 is worth like 125 or 150 tops. people think they have gold... but then they charge insane prices like it's old new stock.

I know check kijiji right now 2kxl asking for 700$ its just rediculous. Anyway hope i can steal a sampletrak of ebay for the low if not ill just wait it out for a good deal on a 303. In your opinion if i add a eb16 how usefull is the filters on there in first place? seems to be lots of mixed feelings on all fronts.

^^^^i know where you're coming from but $300 bucks for a minty sp-303 is worth it, and there have been a few on eBay in the last couple months under that price...also, I paid 2gs for my XL when it dropped, plus I spent $$ on the 8 outs, a 16gb cf drive, extra ram, etc. I don't think $700 is unreasonable, unless the options were pulled before the sale and there are lines in the screen.

I think so too if it comes with a few of those memory cards... those aren't the easiest thing in the world to find... at a decent price at least.

Yup....I ordered a lot of 4 cards off of eBay...only place I could find them. Shit was like 75 bucks shipped to Canada... Way too much, in other words.

first of all, great deals right there...

and no, I dont know anyone with spares for that machine locally... and my 2000 classic is in mint condition. Shipping is the one reason I refuse to buy from mpc stuff... I know the shipping does not cost 45 additional dollars to ship fat pads to canada... and those guys will not do anything other than flat rate shipping. I have made that comment to them in their threads around the forum when they talk about new ideas and such... but they always make some excuse about issues of selling internationally etc... If they charged a legit shipping price, I might own a few sets of fat pads already. Hell, I ordered stuff from japan that are bigger than a package with fat pads and the shipping was cheaper.... again, from japan.. the country with insane shipping costs. But high shipping costs from japan isn't something you can avoid.. those prices aren't marked up.

Yeah same here i just cant justify paying the damn shipping. My brother has a friend who lives just the other side of the border and comes down once a month. Gonna see if hes down to order things for me ill let you know maybe i can get some fat pads for you at the same time. If he's down im planning to also take advantage of that 5$ media mail the states have to buy lots of wax off discogs. :-D

hey if you got a soundcloud send me the link...

also, I moderate soundcloud.com's local montreal group that they made... if you have songs on there you should add them to the group. Most of the stuff people submit is the usual trance house stuff... it makes it look like that is all montreal is in to.

This thread really got hijacked huh!

No soundcloud yet planning on making one and a bandcamp soon. Just need to track some stuff out. I tracked out 1 beat and couldnt really get it to line up to sound like it did on the mp so i just deleted that shit... Next purchase is a 8input interface tracking out 2 tracks at a time is just pain the ass.

meh, we are recycling this thread... no hijacking.. haha
