Sampleing vinly from tech 12 to mpc threw macbook?

Hey, ive just got a new macbook and on my old pc everything was fine all working well. but now with the mac im a bit confused, i have all the cords contented the same as before the record plays thew the mpc but now when i go to sample rec it dosent record anything. Just wondering if it something simple that im just looking over. Any help would be much appreciated thanks

ok, ive got the white and red from the table into my mixer and another double ender white and red from my mixer to the phone on the mpc. Ive also tryed just geting rid of the mixer and just go whit and red from the table to the mpc. I have speaker pluged into the mpc and the record plays all sweet just the sample rec dosent come up with anything not even the sound vibration thing

Look and see if your switch on the back on the renn is set to phono. You need to have that one and the one on the front of the renn to record from a turntable.

the phono is on at the back but im not to shaw about the front one, is it just the red button for rec? if so there both on but still nothing
