Filename already exists saving problem

Hey all, sorry if this has been discussed already, but…
I’ve recently switched to JJ os1 (v4.99) and sometimes when I try to save anything (sample, program, project) it says the filename already exists when it definitely doesn’t, and continues saying that even if I change the name. when I choose ‘replace’, sometimes it doesn’t save properly and says ‘wrong file!’ when I try to load it again.
Not sure if this happened before or after I switched to JJ OS or not. Any ideas?

Try reformatting your CF card or hard drive (backup data in your computer first). There are known bugs regarding the way the Akai OS formatted disks, so reformatting in JJOS normally solves this.

How long as these names you are using?

Also, have you 'reinitialised' your MPC after changing OS - turn off, hold down ERASE and keep it held down while booting up.

Filenames aren't long at all. Will try the reinitialising when i get home from work. Thanks for the help!

yeah make sure it's 16 char max or have one individual character inside the first 16 characters.

It culd b somethin simple like confirming the name u put in b4 u hit save
