iMPC iPad app out now!

Yeah bro. Bought some of those effects he other day. Haha. But hey so far as I know the only thing you can actually export the sequences in the akai Ren project form is from the standalone. I suppose he could make different sequences in each iMPC within tabletop. Save those and then export them individually from iMPC standalone.
How do you like the paid synth? I need to get the other mixer because I neeed sends bro. Too much wasted space and CPU using 3 different reverbs and what not!!

Yeah man, just add folders for user samples. (I have like literally half a million drum hits over here, I can't scroll a list that would be 20 feet long were it on paper. )

I prefer BM2 by a wide margin, but I'm cool with iMPC not being as full fledged especially with the Tabletop aspect covering a lot of those shortcomings. I like the app I'm just a little underwhelmed especially with what competing apps offer. But definitely get it to at least whatever a 2000 or XL would have feature wise.

Btw inside tabletop I had an issue with iMPC causing a crash when I tried to access the sequence window. I contacted retronyms and she said it is fixed for the next update but a workaround is to make sure that every pad in the program has a sound assigned to it and that at least one pad is a stock sound. Just FYI. Pass the word if you hear that Q come up. Thanks

I think it was like $29 or $39 for the whole bundle. I thought if I buy some VST's for $400+ I should look at this like those. (It is a lot for an app, but it's a full blown sequencing environment)

I wasn't too impressed with the synth (forgot the name), the TB emulation was decent, but it was that Machinedrum looking x0x clone that grabbed me, it's got some good sounds.

And yeah I had thought the same thing about how the export likely would work. I'll PM kaydigi this thread link, and thanks for your input.

I crashed Tabletop with 8 iMPC's by just touching the GUI (iPad 3), but couldn't repeat it.

Yeah bro. BM2 is dope. I have that too. But if iMPC would incorporate a chop shop with the way it sample with the virtual turntable I would be 100% iMPC ! I'm really down for tabletop because I'm a Maschine user in the studio (yeah i know maschine v. Mpc blah blah. Im no fanboy) and tabletop has the triggerator which is in a basic way how Maschine does song building.

If you already like the app no doubt it's value at that price. I started years ago on Reason, and I took to that with the wiring because it was basically emulations of al the gear I couldn't afford in the 80's. (yet knew how to wire haha). Tabletop is fun in that same way.

But yeah owning all the modules I say $20 is a sure buy.

Yep. That's why I don't use iCloud. I guess it's good for some things but I don't like the idea of having my whole life in the cloud. Just my opinion.

Exactly! I would gladly pay $20 bucks for this app if it had more features. S#%t how bout just some very basic ones that they left out. (ie. sample chop, panning of pads duh! )
I know some people are saying its just an iPad app but seriously iOS is becoming a more and more viable musical tool for professional sounding productions! And I for one really enjoy making my beats on an iPad. I have Maschine in the studio but people really need to start taking iOS music seriously. Btw one of the biggest reasons people are peeved is because Akai is marketing this as a beat production studio for the producer on the go, not a sketch pad which is what it is at this point. And I personally believe that it's gonna be really hard to sell a controller for a standalone app that's crippled for 200 bones. My 2 cents. Just sayin. I personally have Beatmaker 2, iMaschine, and iMPC w/ Tabletop and Beatmaker 2 is by far the most viable for complete finished professional production from and iPad. But if Akai would take our advice with some of these basic features it would be a much much better contender. The track count doesn't even bother me that much though, it's the basic stuff like the chopping/ mute groups/ and panning of pads. Those to me are basic features that should be in an app that is supposed to be an iOS sampler. If people want more tracks maybe they could offer that as an in app purchase or something. U know like $4.99 expand to 8 tracks. Something like that. Anyways now I'm ranting! Talk to y'all later

If you want to take DRM off iTunes purchased content, burn the tracks to a CD and re-import them off the burnt CD. You can then do whatever with them.

Be warned though that a watermark of your iTunes user account is still embedded in the file. Not an issue in itself, but if your new copy got out into the wild Apple could trace it you and suspend your account. (just wanted to point that out, obviously you probably will not be reposting your own purchases)

Each Sequence can have 4 tracks, each track can have a different Program. So it is still 4 banks in a way. But I agree I would rather it was 4 bank switches like most hardware MPC's.

That's true I guess. To build a song with just iMPC standalone you probably should do several sequences and dump them into Logic or whatever like with an MPC. But that's why I like tabletop I wanna be able to sequence my song in iPad. The whole idea of me doing iPad music is to not be tied to my studio. You know? One day one day.
