you are going to be seriously disappointed if you bought it for eq.

you can only use two different eq settings.

it is still a cool card though.

If he wants a modulating filter effect the eb16 does it quite well (LFO driven).. but eq for definition.. not really that good... best to resample and eq each sample (especially for individual hits)

i agree - for the lfo modulation on the eq it is awesome.

Too true, I was laughing as I read through this thread.

Really? And how much is an old Akai S2000/3000XL with both those boards inside?

OP, I'm not sure where you are but the cheapest way to get those boards is to pull them from a cheap S series sampler and throw them into the MPC. You can always sell the sampler, or keep it for a rainy day. I've done this and so have many others, don't let anyone rape you, unless you want to be raped.

Excuse me for some reasons. You guys helped me alot tough, I just wanted to see some reactions. The reason that I was so difficult is because I dont want to be independent and hooked on the computer when Im making a beat as I wanted. Thanks again all. I can send you summ budddd without customs charges. :smoker: :hmmm: Greets from Amsterdam and EB16 is on my way.

...so congrats.

but hey, get used to the fact that the fx board is a pretty special thing with nice unique sound options....but not even close to what you wanna do with it....

a real pro mpc needs two things first.....maximum ram AND SINGLE OUTS!!!!

it makes no sense at all, to eq a sum that must end up as a complete beat in a production.....

i understand your wish to take all advantage out of a mpc and don't look at the computer during the flow.....

but in the end we all need the computer to mix down those flowresults......
and if there is no single kik, no single snare, no single bass....well, you're ****....simple as that....

and if you can't record your stuff in one rush, you MUST slave the mpc....

could you let me know what you paid for your mpc 2000?
i gonna sell mine finally...with single outs and the fx board....
and if i read this single prices, i'm way to cheap i'm afraid.....

True Bruder
Ive paid 450 euros (550USD) for the MPC2000xl with SCSI and Cardreader with SDcards. And ordered a EB16 for 150 euros (200USD). Ive bought the same MPC 2000xl that was used for RZA-Chi Kung (prod. by Origin). He sold the IB and EB16 to a friend, so when I bought it the MPC was without it :(

...oops.

we should have met earlier.....no xl here....but damned, i planned to give it away with everthing for 300 euros....

i mean ok, all this nukai machines are not like the old real thing....but you're aware of the fact that you could get a mpc 1000 with jjos for round about 500 bucks!?

and the 1000 is the reason why i finally see no need anymore at all to keep the 2000....
it's smaller, cheaper, way more effective and comes with single outs straight away...
and 128 mb of ram....and still has all the advantage of a real mpc.....

but good to know.....so i gonna push my price a bit....

also worth noting - you can't put the eq on the master output.

you have to apply it to each pad individually - not sure what this will do to your mixing.

good luck.

buzina8 wrote:Thats excatly what I want. EQ on the master will be done in PT. Raw EQ on the MPC for each sound.

you can only have 2 eq settings at a time.

be sure to set your direct signal level appropriately - by default, the fx card runs in parallel with the dry signal. if you only want the wet (this is how eq normally works), you have to turn the direct signal off.

all channels will be summed to mono so this will not work on stereo samples, or at least they will be mono when they come out the fx.

I can't even locate and S series sampler with those cards inside.. I looked for years before purchasing my eb-16 as a stand alone and paid around $300.00 AUD

If ti doesn't sell at that price it doesn't sell at that price.. simple really ..

Doesn't bother me, I was just giving the OP something to think about really before spending his money. You'll always find some desperate soul willing to pay through the nose for stuff on eBay, if you list it enough times. Hope you find him, or her...
