For those with "dead pads" or intermittently working pads in my case. I have a question. Recently my "9" pad started working intermittently. In my case I can hit and sometimes get the sound to trigger but IF it does trigger. No amount of hitting the pad again makes it retrigger. I have to hit another note again. Also on screen the little pad velocity meter thing shows me triggering the pad I just get no sound.

Those that had dead pads and got new sensors etc could you still see the pad triggering visually or was it completely dead?

So upon further inspection. When I hit Pad 9 once it triggers then it kinda get "stuck" until I hit another pad. On screen the pressure meter moves up and down on the pad. However, the box labeled "IN" only lights up when it actually triggers. Does this seem like a sensor issue?

I once had a similar issue. What I did was open the unit and cleaned the pad sensors. I used a lint free towel that I had sprayed with an electronics cleaner. Everything worked fine after that.

If that does not fix your problem try re-seating the pad sensor cable.

Thanks for the advice adrian. Currently in the laborious process of backing up the harddrive on the MPC via VMWARE. Before I get to poking around in there.
