I was hoping to systematically measure the amount of latency there is in certain aspects of my setup so I can account for them. My question is, what is the appropriate way to measure such things? I suppose these would be the scenarios:
1) Sequencing a hardware synth from my MPC3000. So MIDI IN and OUT of the synth, connected to the MPC. I'd like to know:
a) when I hit a key on the synth while in RECORD mode on the MPC, how accurately is the MIDI note being recorded?
b) when I play back the newly recorded sequence to the hardware synth, how accurately is the synth triggering
2) Sequencing soft synths on my Macbook from my MPC 3000 . Same setup as above.
