Hmm..I don't understand your broken car analogy. Importing/Exporting MPC files is not a broken function that can be fixed in older MPC's. Northvilla isn't trying to buy the Studio because the sequencer/sampler/ function in his 2500 isn't working, he's trying to acquire a function that no other device can offer.
Historically, musicians have spent a lot of money to record their music. A "basic" Protools setup will cost a couple hundred, Roland, Akai, Korg and Yamaha DAWs have never been spare change cheap..."financing" gear is nothing new! The average producer (using hardware) will spend hundreds of dollars on just wires alone during their lifetime of making music!
Your right though, to buy an MPC just to import/export does seem like a waste, but what else can take my MPC program & sequencer files, and 30 seconds later everything is done? MANY people on this forum gladly spend thousands of dollars on vintage gear just to own them..take studio pictures to post! What's so wrong with someone spending $500 to actually use the equipment? Just because its not how you would use it doesn't make it wrong.
ps..not trying to start an argument, just stating my point. (got to make that clear because some peoples feeling get hurt over punctuation marks and misspellings!)
