^

Easiest way is to get a normal headphone jack which splits in to 2 1/4" jacks for your MPC. Then just plug that cable in the headphone jack of the TV your DVD players connected to and WHAM! You can sample from DVD.

get a rca cable to rca cable, then two female rca to male 1/4 inch mono adaptors, youll put those on one end of the cable and plug them into the rec inputs on your mpc, then the other end youll put on your dvd player, then just monitor the output of your dvd player when your in record mode on your mpc.

then hook the dvd player back up afterwards so you dont piss everyone in your house off for unhooking the audio cables

there are some programs that lets you rip specific audio channels of DVD's if they got them that is.. often with dvd format, its not one just stereo channel, but instead divided on more than one stereo channel for surround purposes.. so you can have dialogue on one, music on one, ambiance and sfx on one etc etc... so many times it is possible to get that specific sound that you may like, but that has a bunch of other sounds ontop, making it useless if it had all been on the same channel.
