The continuous tracks are for samples that are longer than the sequence they begin in. It keeps it from cutting off as the sequence changes, or so you can hear the end of a sample that started on the previous sequence when you are in the next one. Don't even trip off it now. You'll get to it in time.
Like I said I need to plug one in before I forget how to use an MPC altogether.
