It does suck in a way.
Pad mutes is hella useful but not being able to record pad mute trickery is not the bomb.

Do you have a workaround for this?

PS: Can you record pad mutes on the Ren?

JJOS I think does it? I dunno which versions. I don't use it, so I'm not sure.


Though it shouldn't be too hard to go into step edit and get rid of the notes that you'd want to mute out.

Even easier in JJOS, with grid edit.

At least JJOSXL doesn't do it.

I know they can be removed manually, but it's just a total workflow kinda thing: would be so much faster to just hit it in.
Track mute works in recording, though, so I wonder why pad mute won't.

Ah, my bad, I misread, thought you were talking about track mutes, not pad mutes. :roll:


I wonder if it would be an easy addition. I dunno how jj's implemented the pad mutes, so it might not be possible to handle them the same as track mutes.
Maybe, at least, the recorded pad notes could be set to velocity 0, when it's rec+playing with a pad mute on.
