Downloading sounds

Greetings:
When I download a sound to my pc, which is formatted at NTFS, copy to my zip and load in my mpc, the sounds are not recognized. Can anyone tell me whether the MPC uses FAT16 or FAT32? Also, is it possible to xfer a file from NTFS to FAT 16 or 32?

I have:
PC Win XP NTFS
internal pc 250zip
internal 2kxl 250zip
I format my zip via pc fat16
I keep my filenames at 8 character length.
I have no problems transferring samples via zip.
