Quick advance: apologies if this is an obvious question that has been answered many time. I've looked long and hard in these forums and followed the advice found in other threads, all to no avail, thus my posting here.

I am using JJOS free (v 3.10).

The problem:
I hit mode/2, then F4. Rather than giving me the option to turn autoload on or off for a specified program, it gives me the option of highlighting either "Hard Disk" or "Programs" ("Programs" being the name of the only folder I've created) and the only F keys are F4 (cancel) or F5 (enter). Hitting F5 does nothing but return me to the previous "Load" screen. Scrolling does nothing when highlighting either "Hard Disk" or "Programs". So effectively I can neither turn autoload on for any programs, not turn it off for any.

Advice is very appreciated in advance.

welcome to the forums!

maybe you´ll get better answers in the jj os subforum, because it seems that this os behaves a little different than the original akai os.

in the manual for the mpc 2500 there is a whole paragraph about creating autoload folders and another one about switching the autoload function on and off, that explains how it is done in that os.
one thing that is true in the akai os: you cannot specify a program to be automatically loaded, you can only make an autoload folder and put anything you like to be loaded automatically into that folder. this can be any kind of mpc file or any combination - pgm, seq, mid, project, etc...

peace, jo
