What's the lightest portable turntable?

I have a numark pt-01 ad I'm sick of the bastard. It's heavy and not very portable when you're out. I need a huge backpack to put it in and it's just a huge fuss with all 6 batteries in too (six batteries?! What the hell were they thinking? In the days of rechargeable laptop batteries too!)

I'd like a lil turntable for digging, but the pt-01 is just too annoying.

I'm looking for one that doesn't take 6 D batteries, is as small as I can get and fits in a backpack! This one is a contender but I hear ion make crap. The sound burger would have been great but they're not very easy to find. Not sure how lightweight the fisher price is. They are hard to come by in the uk anyway. Lots on eBay USA, but postage is over £40!

The antique shop where I dig at has an older version and its made out of metal. I think its for 45s though, but looks like that. Funny, he wants $75 too. He has a wind-up version as well that takes zero batteries but thats $250.

Its a mom and pop type of antique shop, I don't think they have a website but they might have an email to contact them about stuff. I'm going there this Sunday to pick up these santaria records he's holding for me, I bought half last week (dope rare shit!! with electric guitar and percussions) so I'll hit him up on that little turntable. He gives me deals so he might give me a nice discount. I'll let you know by then.

Yeah man, one cover has this haitian lady holding a white dove and a bunch of african dolls and indian statues around her. Another has a dude in a trance holding a guitar with candles and statues behind him. Most look like Eddie Kendricks covers too.

The chants are eerie and funny sounding as well, nothing I've ever heard before. And the guitar work is some lo-fi illness but with musicmanship. If you find some grab one and try it.

Oh I would cop those in a heartbeat if I saw something like that. I have a lot of lofi funk stuff, but add in some Caribbean Voodun/Santeria/Obeah overtones and you got next level 10x.

Thanks bro! You know its THEE come up when you can't find info on Google. They were made by local bands and churches, so no major labels, not even where they were manufactured or dates but by their covers, I would say the 70s. I'll let you hear some soon, things are in great condition but dusty as hell. Gotta give them the ultimate cleaning because some songs skip a lot.

If the album looks like it was printed at a church raffle, most likely its a rare one. Sometimes a band records their own material to vinyl and sell or give to fans at concerts. So those circulate sometimes, but if you never heard of the factory or studio on the backcover, I'll have that checked out.

The people don't have a web or email. They go by phone calls... hey, respect the elders. But, that little phonograph player appears to be sold to someone else but he hasn't come to pay yet for sometime. He'll give me a call if the guy disappears. Sorry Kon, only way to cop it was if I threw higher than $75, so I gambled on a phone call instead. Stay tuned.
