Yeah, nice having a battery powered unit. I also found a 64GB CF card on Amazon that works with the 500. It is a Dolgix 133. Like having a hard drive!

lol..yea, i have a 16gb card in mine, works like a dream..not sure what akai was talking about saying the 1000/500 only use 2gb ive been rocking these 16gb cards for hella long..lol

it would have been worth it if you could have scooped a working one for 420 bucks and swapped parts to the prototype shell.

Once a week, I would check to see if it's still there and it was. Today, I went there and the price was listed at $420.00 with a big half off sticker. The only wanted to give me 120.00 for my maxed out mpc 1000. No thanks!

I will be putting my mpc 1000 on ebay tonight but I cannot believe I purchased an mpc 5000 for only $420.00 dollars.

That's rad. Congratulations!! Anytime you see anything in a pawn shop longer than a month or 2 there is a good chance you can just walk in and offer half of what the tag says and get it for close to what you ask, without a half off sale. The pawn shop maybe gave someone $150 for it.

I actually have a 5000 im trying to sell for 1300 obo that is in mint condition with a brand new skb case and a gang of samples. I seen ur post and made a thread asking if what im asking is reasonable and im kind of getting torn apart haha

i would have bought it for that price and tried to flip it for $800-900.. great deal.. i got my 2500 for $400 and it came with jjosxl and a mix-400 stand.. i turned around and sold my 1000 for $600.. ive been looking for mpcs going for cheap on Craigslist, seeing if i can find something to flip around for a quick profit..

2nd hand MPCs are at their lowest right now, I see like new condition 2500's in 600 range, 4000's in 700 range, 5000's 800-900...but then I see muffakas trying unload their XL or regular 2000 with "original box for 5 bills or so

Shoulda kept the 1k .. sync both the 1k and 5k together..
i Use the 1k mainly for all the melody type samples and chopsand keygroup pgms(which jjos excels at when chopping and trimming).. And the 5k for drums(4layers plus simult) and synths... You've got a total of 16 assignable outputs... if you have a outboard mixer... That's quite a super setup....
Thats a dope score....

Seems like the 5000 is working for you right now reggie, so I eat my words. Thats a decent score, congrats.

I have no issues whatsoever with the 5000. I have taken my beat production and remixing to another level because of the 5000.

Welp might be in luck....just copped a 1k for $250  But I really don't think Ill need 2 mpc's so I might just sell my 5k and just rock the 1k with the new jjos and I should be straight.

I hear ya Reggie...I don't see what the grip is either...I've had mines for 7mths & no problems at all. My thing is it's just too big. I like to move around & I can't carry that piece with me.
