Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

this is still really sloppy however

if you couldn't deliver the software by the announced date, then don't raise expectations in the first place, especially only to dash them by a casual mobile phone message on the day it's supposed to be out

so now instead of '15th February' being a fixed release date for all this time, we're reduced to 'hopefully Wednesday or Thursday next week'

it's these examples of a lack of professionalness that reveal the deeper malaise

You do realise that the 'latest' ipod was probably 'ready' 3 months before they even thought about announcing a future release date?

With software development on an existing product, we're talking about an ongoing bug fixing/feature development cycle, I suspect the moment Akai fix whatever needs fixing, it will be live on the site.

You are comparing apples to oranges.

Just like most tech we have today is like at least 30 year old thats not my gripe is it?

you dont let the line of people line up based on a date you have told them then tell them on the date

would the decent thing to do at least a few days before say sorry to have you waiting on the update but it wont be ready for the 15th that way you dont get a line of angry people pissed that they waited

shabby would be a nice way of putting things and my gripes are with akai not DAN or anyone delivering a message on behalf of someone they work for

Okay, reading some of these complaints kind of got me thinking... Akai isn't known for their software. They're known for their hardware, however. Now, I realize what they said at NAMM doesn't really follow up with today, but they're just now getting into the software game. So cut them some slack. I mean, don't get me wrong... I'm pissed, but it's not that bad.

Thats BULL. Akai never dropped on the website it would be the 15th, why should they post on the website its not the 15th?

I hear your frustration but 1.3 will not fix all of the issue dont think its some holy grail type release!!! You bought into version 1 software, these are the pains that come with it.

announcing a release date is announcing a release date: for whatever reason, you're deliberately creating customer expectation and people make plans around such things, whether it's music, films, iPhones, or yes software updates

I can understand musicians being emotional about this if they had a specific project to complete that depended upon a release date, practising their finger drumming for a week isn't going to help pay the bills

if the software was still buggy or there were any other unknowns, then you simply state that at the outset, we the customers shouldn't have to read between the lines - at the very least you say 'we're doing our best to have it ready by Feb 15th'

if it's here next week as promised then great, I look forward to that

however, as I said, this is not a professional way of dealing with things and defending sloppy practice is essentially encouraging it to continue

The reason he probably didn't tell us until today is because they were trying up to the last minute to actually get it ready for release because they wanted to try to make the date they said. It doesn't always work out so at least they said something so we are not refreshing the site 200 times a minute.

The result from this thread will be that Akai will not communicate a release date again, not even slip it in on the side...

In 1 month the same dudes will start screaming for 1.4 release date and rest assured no fking communication will come then.

AKAI are not an experienced soft developer, they have 1 PC software it takes companies 5 years to get the release schedules/marketing etc all lined up for announcements of release schedules

Look at Surface Pro and BB10, same shit delays after delays and thats HUGE companies.

Yall need to get a grip...

Honestly my main Gripe Is about all those so called Super producers that
helped develop and used the mpc before it was released and None of them picked any of these problems out thats what im the most pissed off at. i used the mpc 2 week after i had it i knew exactly what was missing you trying to tell me no one else picked up on that please, sounds like people just got checks to endorse sumthing the knew nothing about. They had Young guru do a new university last week if it wasn't working rite yet why did the even waist the time im a 15 year vet i don't have time to post every day too busy in the studio recording which i do 247 for a living by the way not for hobby.my gripe is not about the Ren my gripe is what i have been waiting for since i brought my Mpc-2000xcl then 4000 to have my mpc integrated with software i cant speak for every one else but i have been waiting for this since 2004 buddy Akai you have enuff money spend it on New developers Or did the budget get spent up on SuperProducer Video's

Sad! And I almost took a vacation day today, good thing I didn't waste it. I understand it not being ready, but telling us it's not ready today is completely foolish IMO. Ofcourse you had to know it wouldn't be ready today. Why not tell us yesterday or days before and spare us the offense? This is totally an inconsiderate move on the company's part and I wholeheartedly disagree with this approach. Enough said!
