In my opinion, Akai created the back lash with certain users being p*ssed off.


@ Version 1, they released a product (not a cheap one mind you) into the market place that was very unstable, lacked many features & and was buggy as hell.
From that point, it was never going to be easy to 'win' over these people.. not for a while anyway unless Akai played their cards right. Announcing the delay on the day of release was never going to go down well. And why thank the guy for informing us? Did he have a choice? If he didnt, how bad would that look to announce a date, not release on that date and NOT say anything in this 'digital twitter/facebook' age we live in?? My point being that if we were happy with the Ren as it is now, we wouldn't be so annoyed at the delay. Goes to show how many people feel the Ren didn't deliver on the hype...

To all those saying calm down... Me personally, I won't have a rant at Akai & tell them how bad they are.. BUT.. Many of the features in v1.3 I've been waiting for since November when the software was at v1.1. So for me personally, I've been waiting for nearly 3 months for many of 1.3s fundamental features. Feb 15th was marked in my calender the day it was announced and shall pass as a slightly disappointing one with regards to my Ren.

Oh and let's not forget that for those since v1 who have had the persistence & perseverance to stick with the Ren through the bugs, feature requests, trials & tribulations etc to get 1.3 to the stage it's at, it seems WILL NOT be receiving Pro Tools express as a kind gesture.

Another backlash on the horizon?? Seems likely..

This is what happens with every piece of software, and if they didn't give a release date there would be a 4 page thread bashing them for that instead. Kind of damned either way.

Clearly missing the point. The issue IS NOT the delay, the issue IS the timing of the announcement of the delay.

Its going to be released next week, it is what it is. Deal with it, I've been dealing with this damn Ren for 6 months now, a few days is nothing. We don't know what happened behind the scenes to cause the delay and all we know is they are trying to deliver a product that will please all of us who are unhappy. If you stayed up all night just to wait for the 1.3 update then all i have to say is... wow.
