need help with set up

hey guys im in the process of setting up a lil pre production set at home i have an mpc 60 a dj mixer turntable and self powered speakers a mac book pro and tascam us 122l audio interface . what would you suggest as the best wat for me to set this all up im coming from using a mackie board . so any advice would welcomed.

might wanna put this in getting started section, setting up your pre-prodcution setup is basic first step to producing.

That Tascam interface is a bridge from your analog equipment to your Mac. So hook up the MPC and DJ mixer and turntable as you like first, for example:
Turntable OUT into DJ mixer LINE or PHONO IN

DJ mixer REC OUT into MPC INPUT

MPC OUTPUT into DJ mixer LINE IN 2

You can set it up however you see fit though, I'm sure you know. That was step one.

Step two: DJ mixer MONITOR OUT into Tascam USB interface INPUT (RCA or 1/4"), now hook up your speakers to the interface's MONITOR OUT. Then connect the interface to your Mac and do your configuring. Start your favorite DAW and set it up in there.

Then you're done and you ready to be butt-raped by the hobos.

What would the setup look like if instead of an MPC 60, you had a Ren (acts as the interface)? Thanks!

Off top I'd say you could skip the Tascam interface and the DJ mixer unless you need the fader for scratches. The turntable could plug direct to the Ren and it has a ground if all you need to do is catch some quick vinyl loops.

Yep, basically you can hook up your monitors to the Ren and it'll sound. Plus you can connect a turntable to the Ren as well. So, its just hooking up the Ren to monitors and a turntable and connecting to a computer and you too will be ready and able to be butt-raped by hobos.

Thought you sold that 60? Or am I trippin' here?
