I bought SPDIF board from VST and they included the wire.

So I ordered the cable...it arrived...I unscrew the mpc4000...one end of the cable fits great in the cddrive but the other end is a no go.
Both ends are rectangular...but the end that goes into the digital board needs to be square. So I will have to get a square end and rewire the cable...Or buy another cable. ($1.79)
Also does anyone know(does it matter) where the red wire goes? on the Digital board which end goes where?

Thanks,
Ian

Cool. 8)

I've not used the ADAT and Wordclock connections together, so that would explain why I haven't experienced any issues.

I tried to use the ADAT without the wordclock and got too many pops and jitter. Once I started using the wordclock I got professional clarity. Pure sonic happiness.

Hi All,
made a digital jumper video in case anyone wanted to see it before trying themselves. It's important to know because my manual doesn't discuss the jumper setting...also if you think you can just take parts out of a Z4 or Z8 and put it in the MPC 4000 you might be unpleasantly surpised when you can't do things because of the jumper settingson these parts when in different units.

My Z4 didn't have the digital cable and the jumpers were set differently than they are in the average MPC4000.

Thanks MPCDAWK for the info!

cheers,

Ian

Thank you for posting that picture. Now I have to go find this grey digital cable as it was not on my circuit board.
You just did the World a great service with that picture. Someone in the future will read this string and be quite happy.
cheers,
Ian

Anybody know where to purchase the Green cable? I bought a maxed out 4000 and no green cable was installed.

Thanks all!

Not sure if anyone has written this yet but keep in mind that if you are trying to sample off cd digitally, which really imho is the only way to do it, you must make sure you are either

a: not slaved to word clock

or

b: the device you are slaved to is turned off.

Today, my audio came on then turned off after about 2 minutes because of the wordclock, just FYI.
