SSD? Use Kingwin Adapter

I wanted to repost this under a subject title that is easier to find in case somebody in the future runs into the same problem I did.

In another thread, we figured out that in order to do the solid state drive install you must use an adapter that has jumpers in order to bypass IDE / SATA conflicts.

The adapter that seems to be working is the Kingwin brand.

Using this adapter solved the issue of solid state drives appearing to work but then freezing, and also solves the issue with having to unplug your CD drive.

In other words, with the Kingwin adapter you can keep your CD drive and still have a reliable solid state drive For primary storage.

What is the biggest size I can put in it?

I had to cut my 2.5" bay adapter a bit for the kingwin adapter to fit, so I'd recommend trying

128gb is the default internal drive capacity.

If you get the fat pads at mpcstuff, I'd recommend leaving the corx off. Just my experience was a bit more double tapping than I'd like.

Yeah that cork stuff looks like it could break up and cause a mess.

Yeah the actual cork pads suck, but mpcstuff Corx are these thin composite pieces that go on the bottom of the pads. Normally they are good on the regular pad sets, but on the thick pads I find that it causes double triggering. It could also simply be that the amount of pressure that I was use to hitting the pads with has changed with the corx..... meh

I used this Kingwin Adapter to install my 1-terabyte HD into my 4K. I'm thinking about installing a 2TB drive next. I just wish I could do this for the CD player to install an internal-SATA BD-R. But, I would not be able to use the internal sampler mode for sampling from audio CDs. Good thing the front USB lets me see my portable Sony BD-R burner.

Dude, the MPC4000 operating system can only address 128GB of hard drive, maximum. Your terabyte drives are completely wasted.
