yep in an mpc, oh well i had all the programs backed up on computer, but not the sequences and songs

first thing to do: if it does have a write protection switch, switch it ON.

Then I would try to use a recovery software on PC

when you save you should save "entiere memory" into a folder per beat, then you wont lose the sequences and songs if you back up each folder separately.

how do i save entire memory? i have a 2kxl

ooh, i dont know exactly how it works in the 2000xl, i have a 1k and you can save entire memory into a folder of your choosing. i dont think the 2000xl has a folder GUI in the saving/loading menus.

but look on page 156 through 159 of the 2000xl manual and it should sort you out a bit about saving on there.

There is no "save entire memory" on the 2k/xl theres just "all song/seq" & "all programs/snds). But you could make a new folder and save both in the same one, I believe there is a minimal file manager in the XL, something about a little black folder icon IIRC?
