scsi zip? jaz? or rev!!!

what's up people? i've hit a brick wall with this the iomega zip 100 that i had before getting my mpc3000le seems to have about had it (it saves ok but will not load more than one or two snd files before it locks up the 3000 in the middle of loading if even getting that far i have tried new disk
anyway attempts to get a new zip drive are proving hard (i know they stopped making these time ago and i know about ebay) so my question who uses jaz drives? (i know they stopped making these but some are still around new even) or the new rev although the mpc will waste a most of the space due to the way it farmats the disk the price of the disks are the same price i'd pay for a zip 750 over here anyway and i can get a scsi for my 3000le and a fireware for my mac
Any issues with these formats
main thing to note is that i will need to so than i can transfer files between my mac running osx

jaz drives are considered unreliable compared to zips.

Just go to ebay and get a scsi zip 100 not the plus model. Avoid the paralell drives and you should be OK.

Should run you 15-20 dollars max.

thanks for the reply ebay in the uk is too long plus there are a few dumb ass d**ks out the sending you the paralell drives like what's the difference

That is the chance you take for buying only one unreliable drive when they were commonly found instead of three. Zip, Jazz, they are all crappy from my view.

i have a question along these lines. i just got a zip drive for my 60 and i'm trying to hook it up. how do i get the mpc to read the drive? i'm pretty sure i have the drive hooked up correctly to the port in back.

anyhow if everything is connected correctly you will need to use the mpc to format the disk check the menus you'll find a lot of things just by familarising yourself with the menus if you don't have or don't want to read the manuals after formatting the disk you can now save to it and load from it by first selecting it again check the menus

Why would you attept to even connect a 35 Gig drive to the MPC?

reason? because it seems to be the only thing being currently supported and can interface with my mpc3000le with scsi and my mac osx with firewire. interfacing between the two is important for me especially so i can turn my current library into programmes for the mpc
plus although the 35GB will mostly be wasted i can get the disks for £10 almost what zip250 disks go for hence this is the reason why.
i been learning and creating beats for almost 3 years so i have come from computers with easy wav displays for sound chopping, software and a triton keyboard but i fell for the mpc3000le the first time i saw a beat banged out and sequenced it 6 years ago i paid a lot to get my mpc but after wasting time with what seems like a faulty scsi drive and ebay when i could have been learning the mpc all this to go back to hardware and pay some dues and bring this classic into my current set up
but it ain't easy
