I moved from a 2000xl to the Ren.You may miss the rock solid stability of the hardware OS. My 2kxl never crashed on me in the 8 years I had it. Of course there's more going on with the Ren and dealing with PC/Mac OS's, DAW's, Plugins, Etc...so there's a larger possibility for problems. I love my 2kxl, but I needed a faster and more efficient work flow. You're gonna love how fast you can access your sounds and programs. You're gonna love the chopping of 1.3, according to what I've seen in the Namm videos.
You may miss your step editor. You probably WILL miss the AD amp envelope.
You'll get some of the stuff the later MPCs added. The offline Time Stretching of the Ren MURDERS any previous time stretching algorithm. You'll jump for damn joy on that.
With 1.3, the legacy file support should be much better than it was previously, so you'll be able to deal with your 2kxl sounds and sequences on the Ren.
I'm not gonna say you should sell your 2kxl. I didn't and probably won't ever sell mine.
