Why are we the most hated on??

personally, i think variety is the spice of life. No i dont think lil jon is the most technical producer, but i can dig it when im in that mood.

The West Coast brung melodies to the game, before then East Coast ****** was rapping over beats and snippets and shit, Then the more mainstream East Coast as well as the South caught on and had more melodies in their music because thats what people wanna hear, why you think Jay-Z started getting West Coast and Timbaland beats? and what in the fukk is wrong with a nice melody???????? no matter how much you complain boom bap is not about to come back and be platinum all over the radio and MTV it's just not gonna happen, so if you are in it for the money and fame then you should stop making boom bap, if your in it for the love keep loving the music you make, Hip-hop would be pretty lame if everybody made one type of music

I'll make a sample beat but probly only for a mixtape or something that I'm not tryin' to get on tha radio. Its too much work to clear samples and not get sued or some shit like that if u tryin' to make some bread. Us dirty south boyz are creative and don't look for a sample to try and send tha vibe we try to send to people who listen to are beats. Lil Jon is tha perfect example. Every now and then he does a beat that just get u buck as hell. And if he does want to sample he reproduces the song like he did with "Let's Go". I think thats what its gonna come down to in the future, east coast producers are just gonna start reproducin' samples. But these days I'm startin' to hear less samples from tha east coast than ever, yall startin to be just as creative as dirty south producers and Mid west producers. But samples are gonna have to stop if hip hop is gonna last. We already know where hip hop has been, now we have to decide where its gonna go.

i dunno bout that. Its just a style and sound. Sampling is a unique artform with alot of fans and its own distinct style. I dont think it will ever die cause there are some many diff records throughout so many diff countries. Cats will never run outta material to use and they will get by the laws somehow like they have been. Live instrumentation is cool, not really my thing, but its just a diff form of hip hop. I always think there will be a medium and one will always more trendy just depending on the market. in the 80s alot of hip hop groups used full bands to make music well after sampling was first used. In the 90s sampling was dominant. Now keyboards are the current trend. But ur starting to see sampling make a reccurance with cats like kanye and alc. history repeats itself. Its just whatever the industry leans toward in the comin years. I think well just see a good mix of both.

i think you guys are comparing two differents styles, your comparing underground to top 40, top 40 always dies cause something bdifferent comes out to replace it, and thats what the people want, and they go with it,but underground hiphop and sampling has been around longer than top 40 cRap, were do you think it get pushed from the uunderground dj,

sample base music will never die i dont care what you say, it's got a strong foundation, i think most of the new equipment or software that comes out now is for sampling or is sample based , there making it easier to sample and create this type of music, yeah these new producers are adding there own style to it , is'nt that what makes your music so unique, that you can add your own style and it sounds different than the next guy,

as a dj for twenty four years i have almost always played underground music, i have always listen to underground radio, yeah i have listen to commercial radio but i didnt like it ! , and if they play something i dont like i just change it,
i have not bought any of this new style of cRap music since 94.
since then music has gone down , but the underground has gotten stronger, theres some good artist undergound,

all the music i make is sampl based, as long as there is vynil i will make my music and if some one does like it , i tell them this listen to something else then ,it wont hurt me if you dont listen to it some body else will listen to it that likes it thats what makes the world go round, we all have different taste.

To answer Philly's question, I don't think that samplers are the most hated on, but some of the ill feelings might come from the fact that...it's illegal.

yo in the beginning it sounded like people actually disliked when someone made original music. i see absolutely NOTHING wrong with composing your own music. YES, you can be creative by flipping samples. But I do a lot of R&B as well as soul and a bunch of hiphop. Its not easy man. I have a lot of respect for anyone who makes music (and has talent ) no matter how they make it!!!!

And yea some folks are stuck in the past. Im guilty of that!!! I love the early 90's sound!!!! Yo, it aint about how you make it! And whoever said that comment about if your in it for just the money and fame then get out, i agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i guess i work in the south then. well, it probably is considered the south to folks outside of the area (the tristate area - DC, MD, VA). but livin here, it aint considered the south.
