Cursor jumping between midi triggered samples in Prog Mode -

Hi there.

I'm not sure if this would happen in AKAI mode but I have an MPC1000 with JJ OS2XL.

This is a new setup I'm testing..

I'm triggering my MPC sounds from another sequencer (cirklon) and ideally I want to be able to go into Prog mode and edit the characteristics of each pad/sample whilst the track is playing.

But..as each pad is triggered from my cirklon, the cursor jumps to the played pad. So editing the filter or attack/decay of any sample is impossible as the cursor is just jumping around the place.

Can I turn this 'follow' behaviour off do you know?

Otherwise I guess this way of working won't work. If I want to edit a pad/sample I'll have to stop the music.. but that sucks!

It's built in, I think... basically because the MPC should be the primary sequencer (most of the time). It would be interesting to be able to mess with parameters while a sequence is playing, however.

someone else mentioned wanting this. i'd support the FR, but only if it was an option, otherwise it screws people who use midi controllers exclusively instead of pads

HOLD mode (similar to the function found in step edit) in program mode would be awesome. Worth requesting. Let us know what the response is.
