Share your knowledge on these two classic MPCs

i hooked up a zip drive i just got to my 60. but i seem to have trouble with the 60 recognizing that the drive is there. i think i have it hooked up to the right port in back. what am i doing wrong?

This may help:

Check the operating system number when you start up your MPC60. If you have version 2.14, you have a SCSI interface (v.2.14 was the only version that shipped with a SCSI interface). If not, run this test:

1. Press DISK, then 8.
2. If four menu options appear, you have the MPC-SCSI installed. If two options appear, you don't.

good lookin with the replies. i have the os 3.10 upgrade but for some reason i assumed i had the scsi hard disk interface upgrade also. i guess that's another thing i gotta go out and get now. ran the test- i'm only getting 2 options when i select disk. so i'm thinking the port on the back that i'm using is just the one that came with it. thx.

No problem. Just got my 60 with OS and scsi upgrades. I think the scsi is a must.

i think you're probably right about the scsi being a must. i still don't think it justifies the scsi upgrade costing $300. i guess they know they can get away with charging that.
