Hmm, while this would make for a hilarious story, you've got to treat this with some suspicion. Seller feedback = 3. No explanation how he got hold of it. Those disk images would be taken from anywhere. From what I can see, it is not (as stated in the listing) signed by Araabmuzik, it's signed by Jack O'donnell.

I would also imagine that the starting price would be much higher if this was legit.

Regardless, I love the 'Never been used' bit. :)

If it's real, I must say that's just bad taste from Araab's part.

If you're sponsored and get a product from your sponsor, sure you don't have to use it and promote it on the media if you don't like it, but IMHO it's just pretty lame to sell it that way.
I'd understand if you sold it in a discreet manner but that's just wack; I bet dude has got some cash, and it's just super lame to try to score a few hundred more that way.

Also, if I was his sponsor, I'd give him a lecture.

I agree, but I really don't think this is legit, unless he sold it to a friend who in turn decided to sell it on.

Someone should let him know - maybe send him a tweet about it.

well it makes total sense to me probably not the cleverest thing to do as you shoot
your self in the foot for future Akai endorsements but it's pretty obvious that
the 2500 is his weapon of choice works fantastically well in a live environment
he has repped AKAI hard to a new generation of users so i don't think its wrong that he got free Ren, just the way it's being disposed of may not be ideal PR.

least he didn't do a Rory Mcilory bet he wish he had his putter back

If someone plays a Les Paul for years to get a signature feel and sound they aren't going to switch to a Flying V just because you give them one for free. The dude has never been seen on anything but the 2500 that's his instrument.

*** The fact that it looks almost untouched speaks volumes.

He just chucked it through a middle man -but I can see why he has no use for it. Even in the videos you could tell he wasn't blown away by it. He opted for cash over what would end up being a paperweight. :smoker:

This ain't a Nike contract. It's Numark. If the guy wants any piece of gear he can buy it on a whim. Only broke mofos are enamored with free schitt.

I'm guessing it's not even a statement.
But he should realize that publicly selling a product from a sponsor definitely looks like making a statement.

Looks legit with the letter and numbered plaque.

130k is a pretty big giveaway for a company like Nukai.

If this is so, I am sure AKAI will be looking into this immediately!

Especially if his contract prohibits this type of action.

Tough to say if this is real. Looks legit. But if real this is indeed poor taste on his part. I've never heard of any high profile artist of any sort selling his sponsors gifts and advances. That's wack and a bit arrogant. However I can't imagine akai not having that covered in some sort of agreement. Or maybe they will going forward.
