HARDWARE: Track Names In Track Mix View

I wonder if anyone has the same issue i have:

when i'm in track mix mode and i want to mix the sequence, there is no way to see which track is which number, so i have to go back to the main page, scroll through the tracks and remember which number they have.

I think this could be easily solved. For example you would press and hold down the window button in track mix view and instead of the values of track volume or panning, you see the track name!

What do you think? Let me know

I do want to point out I know for a fact Native Instruments can't reprogram Maschine's code base to allow for naming of scenes. Obviously this is a seemingly basic thing to add. But NI forgot to think ahead all the back at 1.0 and never left it so they could allow editable Scene names. So we won't get that until whenever 2.0 finally is a reality as the next phase of the product. Will happen but who knows when.

My point is I hope Akai didn't code in that same way that a total re-write is needed to just add something as basic yet super useful as user defined naming. But software design is weird and often times the original builds that get updated can't add a very basic thing due to prior oversights or not leaving parts of the software more scalable and adaptable.

Yeah, well it is possible to name tracks. The problem (it's not much of a problem, but as said it could be easily fixed) is when you are in track mix mode, you can't see the name of the tracks. To me, it happens all the time, for example i want to put down the level of a new added hihat quick so i go into track mix mode. Then i realize i didn't remember the number of the hihat track. So i go back into main mode and search for the hihat track. Then i remember the number, go to track mix mode and edit that track.

But if i could hold down the window button while in track mix mode and instead of the values of the single tracks i see the name of the tracks, the issue would be solved!

Appreciate the explanation. I likely won't be buying a Ren anytime soon but I truly just love new gear jump offs and like I said am pulling for you guys to get the next update to get Ren closer to the potential vision.

That sounds like simple design oversight and an easy fix. BTW the stuff I mentioned is why it will be impossible for Maschine to get a dedicated/with levels mixer screen before a 2.0 rewrite.. So good to hear that it's not likely a design hindrance that would make the simple fix easy to implement in your situation.

dont have the software open in front of me but im pretty sure the name shows up in the track mix screen after you rename the track via track view screen in place of the track numbers... you might have to go to a different screnn and come back but it should be there... try it...

Of course you can see it from the software, i'm talking about the hardware
