Can anyone say something about the screen lag of the Ren when adjusting sample start/end ?

From what I've read, zooming is available only on the computer which is dumb, but anyway, I was hoping for lag improvement of the screen and q-links which were unusable when trying to adjust semitones...

lag was definitely improved for 99% of the q links.. just not the assignable outs page of the track mix page.. but thats whatever... and yea, you can zoom in from the controller but it only zooms in on the computer screen... how whack is that!!!

i wanna be able to trim a sample without looking at the computer screen.. workflow killer IMO.. one thing i love about mpcs is how seamlessly i can go from sequencing beats to recording and chopping samples.. having to pick my head up and start using the computer screen when my workflow takes place entirely OFF of the computer screen is frustrating.

I'm loving the changes and direction AKAI is going with the Ren. I think it needs a little more polish inbetween the updates like someone else has mention before. Like some of us are having the issue where the tempo is showing the correct value on the software, but when play it back it's playing at 120 so everytime you get out and go back into that project or any other projects you'll have to reset the tempo. So a 1.3.1 would be nice not just for this, but for other little bugs that we are having. Especially the ones that were fixed previously, but is broken now. Like moving the program over to the second monitor not showing at full screen and othes. I don't want to have to wait until 1.4 for these to be fixed.

Something that is small, but a killer at the same time is the initial change from I think it's region mode to chop mode. It pauses for like 2-3 seconds before switching to chop mode. Is there a reason why the chops can't play until the end of that chop? Why do I have to hold it pad down for it to play to the end?

I agree there should be a loop & one shot toggle for chop audition and it should not be 1.4 but earlier

I'm surprised that it seems that I'm the only one who's badly after a pingpong/alternate loop. And it'd be killer if you were able to audition that while chopping, too.

A looping mode that, after reaching loop end point, plays in reverse from loop end to loop start instead of skipping back to start point.
I've used that for my drums for so many years, it's an annoyance for me to be without it...I don't timestretch drum hits if they fall short, I use reverse loop.

You can do this in Reason with the NN-XT. I use this to make sampled synths sometimes. It'd be cool to see the Ren have this feature.

In 1.3 you can zoom in on a sample on the software using the shift + cursor keys...yeah.

Not on the Hardware LCD, correct homey.
Dan mentioned this in his Namm vids.
