Not on the Hardware LCD, correct homey.
Dan mentioned this in his Namm vids.

aww missed that... shouldnt be that hard - although i guess shift + directional arrow is directly tied to the zoom in the software window (for other screens too)

im definitely loving the ren and im NOT hating on it.. but i gotta say some of the strange things that have been left out or missing make it clear that not everyone testing the Ren USES IT REGULARLY TO MAKE TRACKS FROM START TO FINISH... not just testing features, etc.. i mean really USING the thing.. i know there are some beta testers out there and stuff who DO know what they're doing. im just saying its weird some of the things left out... once again im really not hating on Akai, and they've already addressed a lot of concerns that were around during previous versions of the software. just kinda funny to me.. if you're gonna say its got classic MPC workflow you should be able to do EVERYTHING from the controller, simply put... or they shouldnt advertise the fact that you can easily use without the computer screen... on the BOX it says even

"use with computer screen or pretend its not even there!"

sorry akai, but thats a LIE at this point... you cannot use the mpc without the computer screen.

i know how to chop a sample without the waveform, its not just about the zoom thing.. for example they JUST added creating a new pgm from hardware.. i dont get how nooooo oneeeeee thought of that??

ok im done lmaoooo sorry

Damn thing crashed on me 3 times when trying to save.
Lost the same beat twice. Great **** stability.

Anyone else dealing with such issues ?
The more I love this thing, the more I truly hate it.

Running on Macbook Pro, 2011.
8gb ram, quad core.

Shortcomings aside, at least the Ren now has real world 1.1 level functionality.

I don't think Numark should brag about pole vaulting a lawn chair but it's a big improvement over what users had.

I am running Waves and PSP plugins but nothing extremely demanding.
It is my music laptop , been running Geist, Studio One and CS6 on this badboy for months and never had issues.

So whoever who used to experience freezes and crushes, would you guys say it has improved with the 1.3 update ?

thanks fam.

This is a double edged sword. As a Ren user, there are quite a few functions that I have issues with (bugs or how a function is implemented) and rarely see forum members discussing them. So it makes be question if those who claim they are using it from start to finish are using the Ren to its full capabilities or just have a lack of attention to detail.

It would be nice if you finally stop posting misleading information and continue to bait forum members with silly posts.

The hardware zoom es-k is the samething I have wanted from the start. I wrote several threads about it to include a recent one. In MPC terms, it is the Fine Edit function using the [Window] button.

Turned on my Ren since 9am to 10:30pm and had not one crash. Made beats saved reloaded beats and no problems. Messed with the plugins and duplicated sequences and still had no problems. Must say j am lovin 1.3 so far. Using a 2009 Mac book pro about 5 gigs ram mountain lion.

Looking forward to 1.4 or which ever version the 64 bit Ren software will be available. I will immediately invest in an iMac (or Mac Pro).
