Mpc transports with Pro Tools

The 003 is great for me though. I was once spoiled by being able to work on an SSL console almost any time I wanted to, but I had to move, and was forced to mixing with a mouse. To go from SSL to Mouse was torture for me. Adjusting one fader at a time just horrible lol. So having the 003 filled the void a bit. When I mix, I'm always doing/adjusting more than one thing at a time....for example changing the input gain and the attack or threshold of a compressor simultaneously to get different responses. The 003 combined with my summing mixer = a much better set up for me.

This is also why I love using the Q Links on the Ren.

This is something I don't understand as well. They make all these amazing features and workflow enhancements, and they gimp it with **** like only 16 outs. To add to that, only 2 of these 16 outs can output Vintage Mode! It's like, what's the point of such great DAW integration? Who the hell wants to **** resample and rechop everything for every beat just to be able to track or export with VM applied to all stems/outs?! Very annoying. Damn I didn't think about the vintage mode only being on 2 of the outs. If the mixer was designed better for mix I would mix inside, but it's a workflow killer for me.

Damn, I know that was tough going from an SSL to a mouse. LOL If you do try one I recommend the V-Control Pro. It has a demo you can try. I've tried several and that one is the best hands down.

IMHO, Rens transport controls work much better with Logic than Pro Tools. You can fast forward and rewind with Logic. If you can fast forward and rewind in Pro Tools, I have not seen it yet.

Both PT and Logic can get the job done. Its just a matter of preference on the one you choose. I just find that most high end studios mix with PT.

Either way you can export your Ren tracks as stems and any DAW can load them.

Actually, I know what your talking about. It ff/rw's in the MPC software, but it doesnt ff/rw in the PT session. It does that in Logic.

I have a Pro Tools 10, but haven't play with it that much.......... Can you give me the setup and how you would get it working as a plugin.

After you follow the directions under Help to get Pro Tools setup for MMC. You can then add an Aux Track and on the Insert of that Aux go to Instruments and then the MPC Program. You can now control Pro Tools transport with the Ren controls and use the MPC program as a plugin.

Man! Never thought about using a virtual control surface but V-Control Pro looks like some next level type ish. Does the demo you mention actually control PT/ Logic? The free app version just shows you the mix window etc... but no DAW control. Would like to try it out before dropping the necessary loot cakes. Thanks for the info regardless tho. Damn nice find

You're welcome. Yea it lets you control the DAW. It doesn't let you use the V-Window to control any of your plugins, it just let you view, but when you purchase you can control like your EQ parameters and different plugins you have from the window on the iPad. You should download it and check out the demo.
